Build in the 16th century, Fatehpur Sikri was the capital of the Mughal Emperor Akbar.Mostly made of red sandstone,this mini city gives an insight into the lifestyle of the Mughal Empire. Declared as the World Heritage Site, this spot is specially known for Buland Darwaza. Decorated with black and white marble inlays, this lofty gateway was built by Akbar to commemorate his victory over Gujrat.Another marvel of Fatehpur is Panch Mahal. Sikandra, Akbar’s Tomb

The tomb of the great Mughal emperor Akbar is located 13 km away from the Agra Fort. Akbar’s son Jahangir Completed this construction with 99names of Allah inscribed on it. Following the Turkic custom this tomb was built in a garden with antelope and monkeys. Unlike any other Mughal Tomb, this tomb is faced towards the east rather than towards the Mecca.

Itmad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb

The Mughal Empress Noor Jahan built this tomb in the memory of her father Itmad-ud-Daulah. One of the finest example of Islamic architecture this tomb was decorated with many precious stones like carnelian, jasper, lapis, onyx and topaz.

Ram Bagh

One of the oldest Mughal Garden of India, Ram Bagh was constructed by Babur. The original name of this garden was Aram Bagh, which was later on changed to Ram Bagh under the influence of the Marathas. Build in the Persian style, this garden is divided into four quarters. The pavilions in this garden was built in such a style that even during summer this place would be very cool.
